How the SYNiq tutor handles your messages
Short version: no account, no name, and we don't keep your chats.
What happens when you send a message
- Your message, the recent messages in the same chat, and the "How I like to learn" choices you picked are sent to our small server.
- Before anything else, phone numbers and email addresses are removed.
- Our server sends the chat to OpenAI, the company whose AI model writes the replies. OpenAI's API terms say it does not use this data to train its models; it may keep it for up to 30 days to check for misuse.
- The reply comes back to you. Our server keeps nothing: no chat history, no profile.
What stays on your device
- Your "How I like to learn" and display choices are saved in your browser so you don't have to pick them again. Clear your browser data to remove them.
- The chat itself is forgotten when you close or refresh the page, or press "New chat".
Please don't share
Your full name, school, address, phone number or photos. The tutor doesn't need them to help you.
Keeping you safe
- Messages are checked for signs that someone may be unsafe or upset. When that happens, the tutor stops teaching and points you to a trusted adult and to Tele-MANAS (14416, free, any time, in India).
- The tutor never names or guesses a disability or condition, and never gives scores, rankings or labels.
- The tutor is an AI and can make mistakes. Check important facts with your teacher or textbook.
Children
The tutor is made for learners of all ages, including children. Parents and teachers are welcome to sit with younger children while they use it. The full SYNiq app used in schools asks for a parent's consent before a child can start.
